The Killers
"At the edge of certainty, we begin to feel the tension between the life we choose and the forces that move us..."
There are moments when the human experience becomes difficult to explain. We try to be good. We try to choose well. We try to follow the path that feels morally right. But eventually, life brings us to the edge of what we know. We reach for answers and sometimes nothing reaches back in a form we can recognise. That is where the questions begin. Are we choosing? Are we being led? Are we moving from the truth of who we are, or simply responding to rhythms we do not fully understand? This song reminds me of what it is to live inside that uncertainty. It carries the nervousness of standing before an open door, knowing something has to be released, but not knowing what waits on the other side. It doesn't resolve the tension between control and surrender. We just feel it. There is the part of us that wants a compass. A clear right and wrong. A path we can name and trust. But there is also the part of life that resists our categories. The part that moves beyond what the eye can see, beyond what the mind can organise, beyond what our personal systems can hold. Are we human, or are we dancer? Are we alive with choice, or moving to a rhythm we did not create? Are we acting from the heart, or following steps we inherited, absorbed, or never thought to question?
