There is a darkness in the world that no generation discovers for the first time. It moves through systems, communities, families, and the private places within us. But the struggle remains: what do we do with what is broken once we can see it? “Road to Zion” reminds me that the answer is not to pretend the calamity is not real. It is to keep walking through it without letting it decide who we become. There is responsibility in that. To remain awake to the part of the world we are shaping. In ourselves. In our homes. In our communities. In the ideas we strengthen, the stories we repeat, the wounds we ignore, and the choices we make when no one is watching. To keep walking is to keep choosing what is right even when darkness feels normal. To keep the fire burning without letting it become only rage. To stand for something better without becoming consumed by the very forces we are trying to resist...
