Synthetic World

Swamp Dogg

"When imitation becomes normal, realness can start to feel out of place..."

A synthetic world is not only made of plastic things. It is made of the masks we wear, the systems we build, the relationships that burn away, and the versions of ourselves we perform until honesty starts to feel strange. This song feels like a protest against the kind of progress that disconnects us from what is real. In trying to improve life, organise life, and make the world easier to manage, we sometimes create another kind of mess. One that separates us from nature, from each other, and from ourselves. It carries a longing for something less manufactured. Not necessarily a perfect past, but a world where people, places, and connections felt less hidden behind imitation. There is sadness in becoming out of place simply because you still have one face. Because you still want things to mean what they say. Because you still want friendship, language, and living to feel real. The ache is not only for another world, but for the courage to remain real inside this one.
