Starting over is less about finding the courage to begin again than finding the courage to release the life we thought we were meant to have. Reflection Sometimes we wake up to find ourselves living a life we never consciously chose. Life unfolds one decision at a time. We adapt. We compromise. We keep going. Then one day we realise we’ve been building something that no longer feels like home. “Waiting for the End” reminds me that the hardest part of moving on is rarely taking the first step. It is accepting that the future we imagined may never arrive. We often think we’re holding on to what we have. But more often, we’re holding on to what we hoped it would become. A career. A relationship. A version of ourselves. A promise that never quite came to life. There is grief in releasing that. But there is also freedom. Sometimes starting again is not the end of the story. It is the moment we stop protecting a future that no longer exists and make space for a future that finally can.
